Egbe Obayori Holds 2022 Annual General Meeting, to elect new officers



Ogun  – Egbe Obayori Okunrin Asiwaju Akile-Ijebu has concluded and perfected arrangements towards electing new officers at its annual general meeting which is scheduled to hold n Saturday, 20th August in Ijebu Ode.

The meeting which would be presided over by Giwa, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, the Giwa Egbe and would have Baba Egbe, Hon. Ademorin Kuye, Member, Federal House of Representatives, Abuja, Iya Egbe-Obayori Chief Mrs Morohunkeji Atoyegbe and the Akeweje Obirin, Alhaja Suliat Kasumu-Malo in attendance.

The new officers will run the affairs of the age group for a period of two years (2022 – 2024). 

In a press release made available to the media, the Publicity Secretary of the Egbe, Yori Comrade Akeem Temitope Akilo said, "all the financial active members of the age group from home and abroad would be present to exercise their franchise to elect new officers. They would also be eligible to be voted for at the AGM on Saturday, 20th August at a venue to be announced soon, in Ijebu Ode.

Akilo said the restructuring committee of the Egbe led by Aare Francis Adewale Adeoye and co-chair by Obalofin Babajide Odusanya will serve as the planning committee. Other members of the committee are Bashorun Oludaisi Yusuf-Legacy, Akinrogun Sesan Ogunkoya, Yori Akeem Talabi, Olu-Omo Tijani Quadr.

The age group also set-up Committee of Three of the Electoral Commission to conduct election of the new officers. The committee are;

1. Seriki Sola Kuku --- Chairman

2. Yori Adebowale Abdul --- Member

3. Yori Wasiu Oduyemi --- Member

The Egbe would invite other age groups in Ijebuland and relevant stakeholders to attend the meeting.

The meeting would consider the annual reports and accounts of the Egbe since the inception of the age group in 2018. The meeting would also consider other important matters affecting the age group and the welfare of members. 

Egbe Obayori Okunrin Asiwaju Akile Ijebu is one of the Ijebu Age grades, comprises of Ijebu sons born in the year 1977, 1978 and 1979. The age grade received royal blessings and traditional recognition from the Awujale & The Paramount Ruler Of Ijebuland, Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, CFR, JP. Ogbagba ll on 19th, August 2018.
